Medical Advisory Board

The Medical Advisory Board is the group of clinicians who review entries on Medical Tourism Wiki for clinical accuracy. Review is a named act rather than a general assurance. An entry that has been reviewed carries the reviewer’s name and the date of review in the status bar beneath its title, and an entry that has not yet been reviewed says Unreviewed in the same place.

What the review label covers

A reviewer reads the entry and checks that its clinical statements are accurate, that its account of a procedure, a risk or an outcome reflects current clinical understanding, and that nothing presented as settled overstates what the cited material supports.

Clinical review is separate from source verification. Whether a particular figure was read from a primary register is recorded entry by entry in the sourcing note at the foot of each article, and the three sourcing bands used in infoboxes are explained in the editorial policy. A reviewed entry has had its clinical content read by a named clinician. It has not thereby had every citation re-checked.

Nothing on this site is medical advice, and a review label does not make it so. Treatment decisions belong with a qualified clinician who knows the patient’s history.

Review does not make this site independent of its owner. Medical Tourism Wiki is published by a company with commercial interests in the same field, and that position is set out in the editorial policy rather than qualified away here.

Corrections
